For most women with healthy, normal pregnancies, labor and birth can take place outside of the hospital. We provide safe, individualized care for women who meet our criteria — and we work closely with physicians, hospitals and other providers when additional care is needed.

Rachael Whitfield, CNM
A certified nurse midwife trained at Columbia University, Rachael has practiced in New York and Pennsylvania and has owned Simply HomeBirth since 2010. She lives in Strasburg with her family.

Also a Columbia-trained certified nurse midwife, Ellen has practiced in New York and the UAE and joined Simply HomeBirth in 2020. She lives in Quarryville with her family.
